PrologueThe NOL Prologue and Public Sprint is a standalone individual campus sprint competition.

The NOL / Elite courses (1 and 2) are planned for 12–15 minute winning times for M/W21E. All competitors in NOL / Elite classes will have allocated start times.

Public sprint competitors may enter any of the three courses. All courses will have queueing starts.

NEW!!! Youth Relay - Inspired by the Bagheera Youth Relay that kicks off O-Ringen in Sweden each year, Easter 2027 will include an exciting Youth Relay on Good Friday. The Youth Relay is a 4-leg sprint relay for state-based teams of high school aged orienteers (up to 18 years old). Each team will have at least 2 girls and a combined age of the 4 runners of at most 66 years. The legs will be ~2km and set to moderate standard. With a team winning time of 40-50 minutes, it promises to be quick, inclusive and fun!
Saturday

Middle DistanceThe Middle Distance has an emphasis on detailed navigation where finding controls constitutes a challenge. The element of route choice is essential but should not be at the expense of technically demanding orienteering.
Sunday
28 March
Long DistanceThe long distance aims at testing the competitor’s ability to make efficient route choices, to read and interpret the map and plan the race for endurance during a long and physically demanding exercise.

The Saturday and Sunday events have been designated by the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) as World Ranking Events for M21E and W21E elite classes.

Competitors score IOF Ranking points at these events if they have registered as an Athlete in IOF Eventor, have included their IOF Athlete ID in their entry and their entry names matches that associated with the IOF Athlete ID (check here). Any athletes entered in the elite classes without an IOF Athlete ID should register in IOF Eventor before the Carnival. It is strongly recommended that Elite competitors add their IOF Athlete ID to their personal profile on Australian Eventor.
